November, December and January is the best time of year in Cape Town, South Africa! Why? Because a) it's the festive time, b) sales and c) IT'S SUMMER TIME!

Review: The Grabouw Lodge

Hi everyone,

Last weekend, I had a mini getaway with my family at the Grabouw Lodge. The Grabouw Lodge is situated at the heart of the lush Elgin Valley. On their website, they claim that the lodge is basically a home away from home and it oh my gosh, it definitely is!

My niece and I stayed in a luxurious room fitted with a bath with an over head shower, a mini fridge, flatscreen TV with 10 DStv channels, tea and coffee-making facilities and an air-conditioning system. We also had a lovely view of gorgeous green farms and mountains from the balcony. Each room has an apple related name which I thought was extremely cute!

The Grabouw Lodge also has a secluded pool surrounded by wooden flooring and a beautiful garden.

The Grabouw Lodge offers breakfast (Included in your accommodation fee) and supper (R155). The breakfast buffet includes eggs, mushrooms, cocktail sausages, a cheese plate, fruit, yoghurt, ceral and much much more while the supper menu includes traditional Malay dishes and dessert. I absolutely love the fact that we had scrumptious and filling home cooked meals. Even the food has a homely vibe to it, which I really enjoyed. The Grabouw Lodge is strictly Halaal. You don't have to opt in for the supper because they do have braai facilities. The first night we had supper it was a bit chilly so when we got to the dinning area, the fireplace was lit creating a homely ambiance.

The Dollie's (owners) are extremely welcoming and friendly towards their guests. They will treat you like they're your family and I think that the whole homely / family vibe really creates a great experience. The lodge is directly opposite a little shopping center that has a Spar and Mr Price and various other stores.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the Grabouw Lodge. Being someone who is always busy working, this was really relaxing and refreshing because I literally done absolutely nothing lol. There are fun activities that are close by so no need to worry my dear adventure seekers.

I think the only con about this lodge is that it's not really child friendly. There aren't any child friendly facilities on the premises except the pool which is understandable because I think they mainly cater for couples and kids that are able to stay in a room by themselves.

The lodge has a beautiful garden that you can wander through and that's where I caught this little bugger in action.

If you would like to know more about the Grabouw Lodge, contact Mr Dollie here.
Or visit their website or Facebook page.

If you're looking for an affordable getaway that still has that luxury and homely feel to it then I highly suggest the Grabouw Lodge.

Until next time..

Review: Lush South Africa | Canal Walk

Hi everyone,

On Friday, 3rd October, Lush finally opened their doors in Canal Walk shopping centre!
Lush currently has 4 stores, 3 in Cape Town and 1 in Durban. Us Cape Town Lushies are really lucky to have 3 stores, hey?

The reason why I hardly shopped at Canal Walk was because they didn't have a Lush store and I found myself shopping often at Cavendish Square for obvious reasons ;) I only picked up Shine So Bright Hair Balm because let's face it, I don't really need anymore Lush products lol.

Here are some snaps of the new store:

You can find Lush on the lower level almost opposite (yes, "almost opposite" is a thing) The Body Shop or you can just follow your nose.

No Lush in your dorpie? No woooooorries, my dear friend! Lush also has an online store that ships to places within South Africa and their courier prices are almost half the price it used to be so yay, go on and spend that cash money, boo!

What's your favourite Lush product?

Until next time..

Event: #CottonOnGroupXmasPreview

Hi everyone,

Last week Friday, I attended the Cotton On Christmas Preview at their V & A Waterfront store for an exclusive sneak peak of the upcoming products from the Cotton On Group brands, which will be available over November and December period.

I was greeted by the lovely Leigh from Butter Knife PR and she just told me what the morning is going to be like. It was a very casual event where they served a light breakfast and we got to roam around the store oohing and aahing over the gorgeous upcoming Christmas range.

Jeff Clements, the Marketing Manger for the Cotton On group, took us through a brief presentation telling us about the brands move to South Africa, their future plans and about their amazing Cotton On Foundation.

The Cotton On Foundation is brilliant because whenever you buy an item with the Cotton On Foundation tag on it, the money from that purchase gets donated to the causes they support in South Africa. How awesome??

The Christmas range is nothing but amazing! Think bright colours, Aztec prints, festive prints and just perfect for South Africa's Summer time. From the Cotton On Body brand to Rubi Shoes, they have you covered from head to toe!

Cotton On Kids has some adorable kiddie clothing that will keep your tot trendy and comfy this season.
Bright colours, jumpsuits, boardies and quirky tees will definitely leave your kidlet looking just too cool this Summer.

Also, BEDDING! Who doesn't like quirky bedding?

Ah! And now for Typo. You guys, I love Typo so much. I can't go to a Typo store and leave without anything.
Typo has the perfect gift for your mother, brother, father, sister, bestie and that colleague that you don't really know but you chose from the Secret Santa hat ;)

November / December is filled with festivities and Typo has the most awesome decor for your party. You can get quirky decor and glitzy decor at Typo this season!

It's a store where you know you can find anything for something and they would love it!

I mentioned on my Instagram (Are you following me? No?? Uhh, you better hit that follow button) that Cotton On will start stocking beauty products. YES! PRAISE THE BEAUTY GODS!! Keep a lookout for my post about the beauty products :)

Thank you so much for the lovely event Cotton On and Butter Knife PR. It was great!

Until next time..
