Review: eos Lipbalm Vanilla Mint

Hi everyone,

eos recently launched two brand new eos lip balm scents, Vanilla Mint and Coconut Milk. I'm sure I saw it on their Instagram account in the early hours of the morning and then immediately tweeted my favourite online beauty store if they are getting it in or not. A few days later it was on the site but Coconut Milk was already sold out! So I only managed to get the Vanilla Mint.

eos Vanilla Mint

What The Jam Jar has to say about this lip balm:
If you know me, you would know that I love my eos lipbalms. I have a biggish collection and I try to use a different one everyday. I was extremely excited to get my hands on the new vanilla mint eos but kind of disappointed when I got it.

Like the other eos lip balms (including the eos sticks), they're extremely moisturizing and they smell great. I was a bit let down by this scent because it is not as potent as the other eos lipbalms and you can hardly smell the vanilla mintness. I can pick up the vanilla scent but not really the mint. I thought that this eos would also have that slight tingle once on the lips like the sweet mint but unfortunately it doesn't :(

The packaging for the eos vanilla mint and coconut milk is totally different to the other eos lip balms. It doesn't just have the solid colour but it has an adorable swirl pattern around the lip balm. You can like feel the swirls on the packaging. I think the new packaging is super cute.

I really like the fact that eos lipbalms provides moisture but doesn't leave my lips all shiney. It creates a matt surface, which I really like.

Retailing at $3.99 (ZAR 43,84), I think that it's pretty affordable for a newly released product.

Overall, the only thing that disappoints me about this lipbalm is the scent just because I expected more but other than that, I don't find anything else wrong with this adorable lipbalm.

Until next time..

Tag: Summer Tag ☼

Hi everyone,

I was tagged by the lovely Candice over at Beauty Candy Loves to do the Summer Tag. You can check out Candice post here .

I think this tag is perfect seeing that we're getting closer and closer to Summer in South Africa. Whoohoo!

1. What is your favourite thing about Summer?
Warm breezes, Late sunsets, braais, road trips and family.

2. Do you have a favourite Summer drink?
Vida e Caffee's Mango Frio or just ice cold water.

3. Is there a location you like to go to each Summer?
I love going to Sea Point just before sunset. The view is amazing.

4. Favourite Make up look for Summer?
I try to keep it light so I would just apply some eyeliner on the top of my lash line, rosy cheeks, highlighted cheek bones and a nude lipstick.

5. Dresses or Skirts?
Uhm, none because I'm clumsy and by the end of the day I would've probably flashed my hoohaa by accident.

6. Sandals or ballet pumps?
Sandals. Who has time for smelly pumps in the Summer? Not me.

7. Do you prefer to wear your hair up or down for Summer?
I prefer it being down. My hair doesn't really make my neck hot because I have real thin hair. I love when the wind blows through my hair, it feels amazing!

8. Deep smoky eyes or bold lips?
Bold lips, boo.

9. Favourite perfume this Summer?
Omnia Coral by Bvlgari and Onika by Nicki Minaj.

10. Lastly, Favourite music for Summer?
I love Kygo's music for summer. I can assure you if you listen to his music, you would automatically feel happy.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and please feel free to do this tag if you are keen :)

Until next time..

Event: Hey Gorgeous High Tea

Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago (6th September), I attended the Hey Gorgeous High Tea. They launched their yummy Summer range and oh my gosh you guys, this brand just keeps getting better and better!

Hey Gorgeous specializes in making vegan and organic products suitable for the most sensitive skin. They will alter a product in such a way that it would be unique for your skin type. How amazing is that? Hey Gorgeous always takes their clients unique skin types into consideration.

Their products range from body lotions, mousse, body sorbets and butters to bath bombs, melts and salts. What an amazing variety, right? You can get all your skin care products at one company and get it all at an unbelievably affordable price!

Being a proudly South African beauty brand that makes all their delicious products with the highest quality organic and natural ingredients, I think they deserve way more hype!

The launch was held at the stunning One & Only Hotel and we were treated to some amazingly good dessert snacks and delicious Hey Gorgeous products!

I had an amazing time chatting to my fellow bloggers that I haven't seen in a while. We basically formed our own bloggers circle.

Hey Gorgeous showcased some of their new products and some customer favourites. You can expect lots of fruity scents this Summer and makeup (yay!). I think the Hey Gorgeous Body Sorbets got everyone's attention that morning. Hey Gorgeous Body Sorbet is basically a cooling gel moisturizer. Filled with ingredients like aroma therapeutic aloe gel and essential oils, this treat will definitely leave you feeling cool and refreshed! This body sorbet is available in 3 yummy scents, Peach, Pineapple & Mango and Strawberry & Mint and it retails for only R160.00. Hey Gorgeous suggests that popping this delicious treat for your body in the fridge before use.

How stunning are these bloggers?? The morning was filled with giggles and oohing and aahing over the delicious Hey Gorgeous products and the variety of yummy desserts.

Towards the end of the morning, Hey Gorgeous had a little prize giving and surprisingly I was one of the lucky few to win a beautiful Red Velvet Cupcake Gift Set that included a Red Velvet Body Scrub Bliss and a Calorie-Free Super Sweet Cupcake Bath Bomb.
Hey Gorgeous really spoiled us with amazing goodie boxes that included some of their new products like cosmetics and nail products.

Blogger Love: Undecided Muse by Mazeeda

Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago my sneaky (and gorgeous) neighbour and fellow blogger, Namreen over at Life and Times of the Fireflies, dropped off a sample pack of amazing Sensai goodies. Unfortunately, I was unable to use it because I recently had some laser therapy done on my face and I was given specific products to use to maintain the treatment.

These luxury products couldn't go to waste so I gave it to an amazing blogger. Mazeeda over at Undecided Muse is fairly new to the industry so show her some love, Jammys :)

Click below to read what she thought about Sensai's Silky Purifying Range and Cellular Performance Range.

Thank you so much Blog Addict for this awesome sample pack!

Recipe: Classic Tomato and Basil Bruschetta

Hi everyone,

My sister and I went through this Julie & Julia phase where we watched the movie over and over and over and over. Do you ever get that feeling that you really want to make something after watching a show or movie about cooking? Yeah, we felt that way too.
When I met ZZ2's little rascals, the first thing I thought of was Bruschetta!

Classic Tomato and Basil Bruschetta:
Ingredients:
♡  6 ZZ2 Rigoletto Tomatoes
♡  6 Slices of a French Loaf
♡  Handful of Basil Leaves
♡  Extra Virgin Olive Oil
♡  1 Teaspoon of Garlic
♡  A pitch of Salt and Pepper
♡  A dash of Thyme

Method:
Step 1:
Preheat oven to 180°C. Once you cut up your french loaf into slices, take a basting brush and brush some EVOO on each slice and place it in an oven proof dish. Pop those suckers in the oven until they're golden.

Step 2:
Chop up the tomatoes into chunky bits. Chop up the basil leave into strips. Mix together and add a splash of EVOO, garlic, salt and pepper.

Step 3: (Optional)
And this is where I failed at making Bruschetta because I decided to fry the tomato and basil mixture a bit lol. But I can assure you that this step does not make this snack taste weird. I honestly think it tastes amazing even with a little frying.

Step 4:
Place tomato and basil mixture on top of golden brown slices of french loaf. I topped mine off with some thyme because recently I've been loving errthang with a dash of thyme.

Even though I didn't make it the proper way, my family still enjoyed this yummy snack.

This is the perfect starter as The Sparkling Labyrinth suggested or even a light meal with a yummy side salad that ZZ2 suggested on Twitter.

By the way, I made a Biltong Salad for lunch now the other day with ZZ2's Little Rascal called Bacio and OH MY WERD, it was so freaking good, you guys! Here's a picture;
Let me know if you try this super easy recipe :)

Until next time..
