Cotton On x Mandela Foundation

Hi everyone,

The Cotton On Group is thrilled to announce its philanthropic arm, the Cotton On Foundation, has entered into a groundbreaking partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation, demonstrating its commitment to building healthy and sustainable futures for South African communities in need.

The partnership will see the two Foundations come together to focus on areas in line with the Cotton On Foundation’s pillars of education, health, sustainability and infrastructure. These areas of focus will include four key programs that will support five schools with libraries, a food security program and toilet infrastructure, as well as a separate education-based initiative supporting women’s health in rural communities.

The Cotton On Foundation will partner with the Nelson Mandela Foundation to deliver these programs through the sale of its products in Cotton On, Cotton On KIDS, Typo, Rubi Shoes and Cotton On Body stores across South Africa. How awesome is that, Jammys?

Instead of cutting cheques the Foundation team rolls up their sleeves and gets their hands dirty to help out mates in need.

Through its partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation, the Cotton On Foundation will support the following projects, which will be rolled out throughout South Africa:

The Mandela Day Libraries: will improve literacy nationwide and will be supported by the provision of educational books, librarian up-skilling and e-literacy through a further partnership with Vodacom and their “digital classroom” e-learning hubs

The Mandela Day Food Security Programme: will take place during the July and December school holidays in support of the Dept. of Education Daily Nutrition Programme, ensuring a continuation of learning and development of scholars.

Caring4Girls (Trek4MandelaDay) – Imbumba Foundation: is a menstrual hygiene programme for underprivileged girls in rural communities providing them with puberty and menstrual hygiene training and support.

Toilet Infrastructure through Amalooloo:  is aimed at the reduction and ultimate elimination of pit toilet infrastructure in schools. The Cotton On Foundation will partner the rollout of such infrastructure in conjunction with the Depts. Of Education and Social Development.

This makes me feel so much better after breaking the bank at Cotton On :D This calls for a shopping spree!

Until next time...
