Review: Lush Love Locket Bath Bomb

Hi everyone,

You must be thinking that I'm a bit silly to be reviewing this bath bomb now in APRIL and it's not available anymore in stores but I seriously didn't want to use this bath bomb because it's freaking gorgeous. Whenever I open my Lush box full of bath bombs, the Love Locket scent is dominant. I decided that I would use this bath bomb first before using my other big bath bomb (Immaculate Eggception Pink).
Love Locket Bath Bomb:
Love Locket bath bomb | R95.00
Limited edition.
What Lush has to say about this bath bomb:
Set hearts aflutter!
What’s inside this locket? You’ll need to break this heart-shaped bomb in half to find out! Use each half and the center for three separate baths (each piece is big enough to stand on its own), or sink in with the whole thing all at once. The outside layer is speckled with paper hearts that will float out to the surface of the pink water, and the hidden center releases a smattering of shiny red agar seaweed hearts to create a spectacular bath time display. The sensual blend of vanilla, jasmine and neroli essential oils top off the luxurious and indulgent experience.

Ingredients:
Sodium Bicarbonate , Citric Acid , Fragrance , Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum) , Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla Planifolia) , Neroli Oil (Citrus Aurantium amara) , Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides) , *Eugenol , Geraniol , Methyl Ionone , *Linalool , *Limonene , D&C Red No. 33 , D&C Red No. 27 , Pink Heart Confetti , Red Edible Hearts (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC), Glycerine, Gum Arabic, Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose, FD&C Red 40)

Featured Ingredient:
Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum)

What The Jam Jar has to say about this bath bomb:
This bath bomb is all kinds of awesomeness when it comes to design and quirkiness. I didn't love it all too much as I thought I would. The one downfall I found about this bath bomb is that it dried out my skin a bit. It's not like the bath bomb lost some of it's qualities because I store all my Lush bath products in individual ziplock bags, in a box and in a cool dry place in my room.

The Love Locket is a fast fizzing bath bomb so it doesn't really create a pretty visual show but the aftermath is pretty awesome. It turned the water a gorgeous, vibrant pink colour and the Pink Heart Confetti adds a cute touch as well. The confetti is biodegradable so it basically melts in the bath. I was pleased that the clean up was easy and it didn't stain my nails like some other bath bombs.

The smell is very powdery and floraly. I absolutely love Neroli-ness and I can clearly smell that scent in this bath bomb. I don't get the Vanilla scent really, just the Jasmine and Neroli. I know the price might seem a bit much for a bath bomb BUT it's massive! It can be broken into two pieces and it has a surprise center so basically you're paying for R31.00 per piece (Cheapest bath bomb is R32.50) which it almost like buying 3 bath bombs at Lush. So, I think it is worth it to buy this bath bomb.**

Would I purchase this again?
Hmm, if I had some extra money to spend then I probably would. I would fix the dryness issue with a bath melt. The fact that it dried out my skin a bit really changed my mind about this bath bomb.

I divived my bath bomb is 3 section.
The heart I will probably mix with a similar smelling bath bomb.
Would you consider buying a bath bomb worth R95.00?
I've see many complaints about how expensive these big bath bombs are so I would love to know your opinion :)
Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time..

  1. Ah sad to hear it dried your skin out a bit, I do find this to be the case with most bath bombs though. Pretty and they make great gifts but not always effective.

    1. I actually like most of Lush bath bombs.
It wasn't a major train smash but it was a bit meh because I expected a lot from The Love Locket.

      Thanks for reading!

  2. Not a huge fan of bath bombs as my skin is a bit too sensitive. But I love those tiny hearts!

    1. Oh no :( If you would give bath bombs one last shot then I would highly suggest Honey Bee from Lush. It has amazing skin healing ingredients like Rhassoul Mud, Aloe Vera Extract and Organic Aloe Vera Gel AND it smells like sweet toffee pudding. If you have a sensitive nose then I wouldn't suggest it because the scent is kind of potent.

The hearts are seriously adorable :D

  3. Great review! I have never tried bath bombs and I have no idea why. You should seriously consider buying shares at Lush. Love your Lush collection:-)

    1. Thank you, honeybun!
You should really try some out sometime. I know the store can be very over whelming but just talk to the Lushies and explain what type of scent you like and they will advise you :)

Hahaha, you're totes right! I should!
Many times I've thought about quitting my jobs so that I can work full time at Lush. I would love it so much lol.

      Thank you for reading!
