Review: Lush Phoenix Rising Bath Bomb

Hi everyone,

I went out with my bestie for a girls day out and I told myself that I won't go into Lush and buy more beauty and bath products. That never happened. I'm sure you all know that before you even go near a Lush store, you can smell that yummy Lush aroma and the smell like grabs you by the nose and lures to the store.

Before leaving I decided to go into Lush just because then I will be forced not to stay as long in the store as I usually do. As I approached the bath bomb section, I noticed something familiar but unfamiliar to the store. I spazzed out and ran to the bath bomb and grabbed it and then I started frantically telling my bestie about this particular bath bomb that I have been wanting for the longest time ever but I've never seen it in South Africa.

I was dancing like this in the store!
I'm not even kidding, you guys.
I told one of the Lushies about how long I've waited for this bath bomb to come to South Africa and she got so excited with me that she done a demo in the store. She called everyone and told them to gather around because she is going to demo it it the store for the very first time. It was so exciting!

Phoenix Rising:
Bath Melt + Bomb Bomb | R45.50
What Lush has to say about this bath bomb:
A mystical, shimmering purple and green layered ballistic that rises in the water on a cloud of exotic spice fragrance.
When your skin is feeling over-cooked and in desperate need of hydration, Phoenix Rising’s blend of cocoa and shea butters will have you rising out of the bath with soft, luscious skin. Its rich, cinnamon fragrance will also lift your mood if you’re feeling out of sorts.

Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Icing Sugar, Cocoa Butter, PEG-6 Caprylic / Capric Glycerides, PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Perfume, Bergamot Oil, Cassia Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Fair Trade Shea Butter, *Cinnamal, *Citral, *Limonene, *Linalool, Colour 45410, Colour 42090, Colour 77891, Colour 77491, Colour 77510, Frosty Holly Lustre, Gold Lustre, Cinnamon Stick
*occurs naturally in essential oils

Featured Ingredient:
Cinnamon Stick

What The Jam Jar has to say about this bath bomb:
Phoenix Rising was everything that I expected and more! This is definitely my favourite bath bomb because it looks amazing and it's amazing in the bath as well. Phoenix Rising consists of two parts; a bath melt that has some bubble bar mix and a bath ballistic. The bath bomb drops to the bottom and melts and forms a bit and then it rises with the green bath bomb peeking out that has beautiful gold lustre bits oozing out of it.

The scent of this bath bomb is actually one of my favourite scents. I absolutely love the smell of a fireball and this bath bomb smells exactly like that! It smells of cinnamon and woodsy yumminess! I think this bath bomb is perfect for the winter time because the scent is a very warm scent and the bath bomb is filled with gorgeous oils like organic Jojoba oil and Shea butter, which is good for moisturizing the skin. The oils coats your body making you feel soft and relaxed and ready for a good nights sleep.

This bath bomb did stain my nails a bit but it washed off the next day. I'm not sure how it will be in a white tub but I've read lots of reviews about it and some people did experience some tub stains.

I highly suggest that you pick up this bath bomb if you are needing a good pick me up because the scent really clears your mind and the soft water hugs your body making everything feel alright :)

A closer look at how beautiful this gem is :D

It looks so freaking pretty!
I absolutely love the dark purple!
Would I purchase this again?

Let me know if you picked up this incredible bath bomb and how you found it :)

Until next time..

My Day in Pictures #1: V&A Waterfront with bestie

Hi everyone,

My Sunday consisted of a day out at The V&A Waterfront with my friend from Primary School. I can't believe that we're actually still friends because I don't really keep friends for that long. I have so much love for this girl.

Anyways, we decided to go to The V&A Waterfront for a "girls day out" and like always, it was fun!
Nousheen hasn't tried Bubble Tea and Simply Asia before so we made a plan to tick them off on her Bucket List lol.
1. Bubble Tea was our first stop. I had my favourite combo which is Ceylon Black Tea, Mango Syrup and Peach Nata de Coco. Nousheen had a Ceylon Black Tea, Passion Fruit Syrup and Peach Nata de Coco. She reckoned that mine tasted better.

2. Readers Warehouse has a pop-up shop at The V&A Waterfront outside behind the Wheel of Excellence and seeing that Nousheen is a avid reader, we popped in for a bit to look around. I found an adorable Hello Kitty story book in the kiddies section because I like books with pictures.

3. Outside by the amphitheater there were a few soccer enthusiast doing some awesome soccer stunts. I got some cool shots of them doing their thang.

4. Seeing that Nousheen is graduating this year, she wanted to look for a dress for graduation and she absolutely loves YDE's fancy dresses. We totally forgot that YDE hosted their famous Naked Sale and when we got there, the rails were empty lol.

5. We both wanted some Sushi and seeing that Pick n Pay is the only halaal Sushi place in The V&A Waterfront, we decided to order some Maki, California Rolls and a Hand Roll. We shared the platter because we wanted Simply Asia also lol. I love Pick n Pay's Sushi. It's affordable and it's yummy!

6 & 7. After we had our Sushi, we had Simply Asia. I think the family seated next to us probably thought that our parents don't really feed us because of all the things we ate -_-
She had the famous Ba-Mee Prik-Phao, aka 514 and I had the yummy Taud-Man Khao-Phod, aka Sweet Corn Cakes with Sweet Chilli Sauce.

8. I told myself that I won't go into Lush because I have over enough beauty and bath products but something just told me, "Hey, you should go in. You know, just to browse and stuff", and boy was I glad to listen to that creepy voice inside! I walked in and my eyes fell on the most gorgeous bath ballistic ever!

9. Oh, Cape Town. Stop showing off, you beaut!
The silky clouds started cover our gorgeous Table Mountain and it looked super pretty!

And that's basically how I spent my Sunday :) I had such a chilled day and I was so happy to see my long lost friend!

Oh! I saw one of my fellow bloggers, Namu, that blogs for Life and Times of the Fireflies. We bumped into each other at The Body Shop. I strongly held back the urge to purchase anything from the Blueberry collection! Yay me!

What did you get up to on Sunday?

Until next time..

Review: Lush Sweetie Pie Gift Box

Hi everyone,

Over the weekend, I decided to pick up one of Lush's gift boxes. I have decided to get one every month just to spoil myself because I don't really spend much because I hardly go out because I'm ALWAYS working -_-

I've been eyeing the Sweetie Pie gift box since Christmas time and I am SO happy I finally got it. Sweetie Pie was a Christmas edition gift box but Lush decided to make it a gift box that's available throughout the year! Yay!

Let me introduce Sweetie Pie to you, Jammys :D

Sweetie Pie:
"Shimmering, sparkling and sweet treats for a party in a box"

"You can never have too much sparkle and sweet treats, so we've picked all our shimmery favourites into this reusable box. We've picked a triangle of candylicious Rock Star soap, a cherry-scented shower jelly complete with sparkles, two bubble bars, two bath bombs with popping candy and rice paper hearts, and our Shimmy Shimmy shimmer bar to add some razzle dazzle to your day."

This box retails for R395.00
This box contains:
Space Girl Bath Bomb
 Rock Star Soap
 Think Pink Bath Bomb
 Shimmy Shimmy Glitter Bar
 Sunnyside Bubble Bar
 Creamy Candy Bubble Bar
 Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly

This box caught my attention because it has one of my all time favourite bath bombs in it which is Space Girl. Space Girl was the first bath bomb I bought from Lush (It was R28.50 and now it's like R32.50 -_- Pfft) and ever since then I've always loved it.
Space Girl Bath Bomb:
Space Girl - My fav :D | R32.50
What Lush has to say about this bath bomb:
Here comes a ballistic of astronomical proportions. We were inspired by The Imagined Village's intriguing interpretation of Space Girl from their second album, Empire & Love. It's shaped like Saturn with added space dust for our alien friends, and the refreshing scent of blackcurrant sweeties will make you hungry for your own space adventures. Space Girl is stellar, just remember your blaster and your freezer gun.

Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Perfume, Grapefruit Oil, Bergamot Oil, Almond Essential Oil, Popping Candy, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Tin Oxide, DRF Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, *Limonene, *Linalool, Methyl Ionone, Colour 17200, Colour 42053, Colour 14700, Colour 77019
*occurs naturally in essential oils

Featured Ingredient:
Grapefruit Oil

What The Jam Jar has to say about this bath bomb:
I absolutely LOVE Space Girl. It's definitely one of my favourite bath bombs from Lush because it looks amazing when it fizzes away, it left my skin feeling amazing and it smells so freaking good!
The scent of this bath bomb reminds me of the Fizzer and the scent lasts so long on my skin.
You never forget your first time ;)

Would I purchase this again?
Rock Star Soap:
Rockstar | R42.50 / 100g
What Lush has to say about this soap:
The creamy vanilla sweetie. Here’s a soap for all of us who know we ought to be attracted to sophisticated beiges and navy blues, but can’t help grabbing everything pink! The Rock Star soap smells just like Creamy Candy Bath, so all you budding starlets can shower and bathe with our sweet vanilla perfume.

Water, Propylene Glycol, Rapeseed Oil and Coconut Oil, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Hydroxide, Perfume, Titanium Dioxide, Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute, Glycerine, Sodium Chloride, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Methyl Ionone, Colour 17200, Colour 14700, Colour 45410
*occurs naturally in essential oils

Featured Ingredient:
Vanilla Absolute

What The Jam Jar has to say about this soap:
Last year, I bought the Stardust gift box and inside was a 100g Rockstar soap and I didn't get around to using it until I got another one in this box. O M G!  I fell inlove with this soap! It smells so amazing and it made me smell amazing!
It lathers up really well on a loofer and the lather is extremely soft and it makes your skin feel AH-MA-ZING. The scent doesn't last that long but it does last an okayish time. It smells like candy floss and vanilla :D YUM! I used this soap on my face and to my surprise, it was very gentle and didn't leave my sensitive skin red or feeling tight! If you love clean smelling soaps then I wouldn't suggest this soap because it's really sweet smelling.

Would I purchase this again?
Think Pink Bath Bomb:
Think pink | R32.50
What Lush has to say about this bath bomb:
The Think Pink Ballistic is back with a slimmer figure. We’ve made it smaller, but this hot pink bomb is still fragranced with tonka bean’s edgy aroma and the sweetness of vanilla absolute. It’s sweet, but not overbearingly so, with a subtle bite that will remind you of pink bon-bons. We highly recommend you spoil yourself with our gloriously indulgent, rather sophisticated surfeit of pinkness.

Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Perfume, Lavender Oil, Tonka Absolute, Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute, Neroli Oil, *Limonene, *Linalool, Pink Heart Confetti, Colour 45410, Colour 14700, Colour 17200, Candy Flowers
*occurs naturally in essential oils

Featured Ingredient:
Tonka Absolute

What The Jam Jar has to say about this bath bomb:
I had very high expectations for this bath bomb but I was a bit disappointment because it wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be. It doesn't fizz too fast and it doesn't fizz too slow, it's like a medium fizz time lol. I don't know if it's just my nose but when I smell my skins, I smell nothing but as I'm sitting here at my desk, I smell a slight jellybean scent. Before putting this bath bomb in my bath, I really liked the way it smelt. It was sweet and kind of floral-ly. If the colour pink had a smell, it would be the scent of Think Pink.
Even though the scent doesn't linger on your skin, the moisturizing qualities of this bath bomb definitely does! This might sound a bit weird but it made the bath water soft (How on Earth did you manage that, Lush??). The water felt and looked amazing! I love that this bath bomb doesn't leave the bath oily but it leaves your skin feeling moisturized! The bath water turned into a pink wonderland with biodegradable pink and white heart confetti floating around. The heart confetti eventually settles to the bottom of the bath, though. I was impressed but not like really, really impressed.

Would I purchase this again?
Yes, I would :)
Think Pink in action.
I took out the candy flowers before putting it in my bath.
Also, the glitter is not from the bath bomb, it's from Star Bright, Star Light  bath melt.
Shimmy Shimmy Glitter Bar:
Shimmy Shimmy | R78.00
What Lush has to say about this glitter bar:
Shimmy shimmy into Lush for vanilla scented skin that sparkles. It’s shaped like an abstract heart and smells of vanilla and lavender, with a hint of herbal clary sage. The Shimmy Shimmy bar perfumes, softens your skin and makes you shine like a star. The glitter in Shimmy Shimmy is very subtle and gives you a pink-bronze glow that lights up pale, wintery skin.

Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate and Titanium Dioxide, Fair Trade Shea Butter, Perfume, Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute, Clary Sage Oil, Lavender Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, *Linalool, Coumarin
*occurs naturally in essential oils

Featured Ingredient:
Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter

What The Jam Jar has to say about this glitter bar:
I've had my eye on this glitter bar since Robin tested it out on my arm. It looks AH-MA-ZING once you apply it on your skin. The scent of this glitter bar is very subtle, but you do smell a slight scent of vanilla yumminess, so if you're not into strong scents and you love glitter as much as I do then this is the bar for you! Shimmy Shimmy is very moisturizing and gentle on the skin, which I love! I'm keeping mine in the fridge just to keep it solid.

Would I purchase this again?
Sunny Side Bubble Bar:
Sunny side | R48.50
What Lush has to say about this bubble bar:
Sparkly golden bar with citrus scents to bring you sunshine. If you’ve had a bad night full of disappointing dreams and wake up feeling a bit glum, pop one of these in the bath. Even as you crumble it under the running water, you’ll start to feel better. Maybe it’s because citrus fruits only grow in warm, sunny places that their scents make us feel like smiling again. Sunnyside’s orange, tangerine and lemon help to get us through the day, however badly it started. It’ll turn your life sunnyside up.

Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Golden Lustre Sparkle, Lauryl Betaine, Cocamide DEA, Sweet Wild Orange Oil, Lemon Oil, Tangerine Oil, Silica, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Tin Oxide, *Citral, *Geraniol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Lilial, *Citronellol, Hydroxycitronellal, Perfume, Colour 77492, Edible Golden Agar Glitter (Agar, Mica Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide)
*occurs naturally in essential oils

Featured Ingredient:
Sweet Wild Orange Oil

What The Jam Jar has to say about this bubble bar:
I haven't tried this bubble bar yet but it smells and looks amazing!
The bubble bar is coated with gold sparkly lustres and gold flakes. It looks so beautiful. I honestly don't pick up a sweet citrus scent. My nose picks up more of a sweet powdery scent. I saw a demo in the store of the bubble bar once and it looked and smelt amazing. It filled the bowl with glittery goodness and the scent was just so intoxicating (in a good way). It turns the water a slight yellowish colour because the actual bubble bar is yellow. I think to get the full effect of this bubble bar, you would actually have to use the entire bubble bar because it is a bit small so for me, I don't think it's worth it for R48.50. But if you are in the mood to spoil yourself in a gold luxurious bath, then definitely get this bubble bar!

Would I purchase this again?
Hmm, probably.
Creamy Candy Bubble Bar:
Creamy Candy | R38.50
What Lush has to say about this bubble bar:
Sweet, frothy and fluffy bubbles that smell like custard creams. What a delight it is to have a bath in the equivalent of a cup of vanilla flavoured, frothy, hot chocolate topped with marshmallows. The Creamy Candy bath is like the friend you're always delighted to see, because he bubbles over with cheerfulness no matter what life throws at him. For days when your friend is busy, it's time to indulge in some Creamy Candy.

I found out that letting the water run over it in your hand makes way more bubbles :)
Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocoa Butter, Lauryl Betaine, Laureth 4, Perfume, Almond Oil, Cocamide DEA, Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute, Colour 14700, Colour 45410, Colour 17200, Candy Flowers
*occurs naturally in essential oils

Featured Ingredient:
Vanilla Absolute

What The Jam Jar has to say about this bubble bar:
I love the scent of this bubble bar. Like Think Pink bath bomb, this is exactly what the colour PINK smells like! This bubble bar is a bit small so I crumbled up the entire bubble bar and the outcome was a bit sad. The smell was there, the moisturizing qualities were there but the bubbles weren't :\ The bubbles came and went quicker than I could say "where dem bubbles go to???". It makes a lot of bubbles but unfortunately, it doesn't last that long. I adore the yummy candy floss smell and that's why I actually like it.

Would I purchase this again?
Yes, I would.
Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly:
Sweetie Pie | R55.00 / 100g
What Lush has to say about this shower jelly:
Sweet and sophisticated fruitiness. Lashings of blackcurrant and bergamot essential oils in a sour cherry and coconut jelly make this about as fruity as you can get. It is incredibly difficult to resist taking a spoonful. Instead, take a handful and smooth it over your hair and body. Passing strangers will smell you and find their minds wandering to fruit pastilles.

Glycerine, Cherry Infusion, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Coconut Infusion, Propylene Glycol, Carrageenan Extract, Perfume, Bergamot Oil, Cassis Absolute, Cypress Oil, *Limonene, *Linalool, Snowflake Lustre, Colour 17200, Colour 42090, Methylparaben, Propylparaben
*occurs naturally in essential oils

Featured Ingredient:
Cherry Infusion

What The Jam Jar has to say about this shower jelly:
I have mixed feelings about this shower jelly. I love the idea of it but I just can't seem to get it right when using it lol. So I cut mine into little cubes to make it last longer and to make it easier for me in the shower. The first time I tried Sweetie Pie, it slipped out of my hand and went straight into the drain of the shower -_- MegaFAIL! My second attempt went way better. I tried it with a wash cloth, my hands and a loofer. I feel that it works best with a loofer. It doesn't lather up like amazingly but it does the job anyways. The scent is very subtle, which was kind of disappointing because I am inlove with this scent. It's exactly the same scent as The Comforter Bubble Bar (another Lush favourite). I love the fact that it's a novelty product but meh, I really had to work hard to keep it from going in the drain again lol. It also has gorgeous snowflake lustres floating inside the jelly. It looks really beautiful.

Would I purchase this again?
Uhmm, no. It's too much of a struggle for me.

I really like this box because it has a good variety of bath products and they all smell amazing! It's definitely a sweet treat! I am so glad that this will be a permanent box because I wouldn't think twice about repurchasing it :D

Review: Lush Valentine's Collection

Hi everyone,

Soooo, Lush South Africa's Valentine's Collection has officially hit our Lush stores! YAY!
I would've love to get the Lots of Love box but unfortunately, they didn't receive that box.

I went through all Kim K's ugly cries when I heard the bad news :(
I did pick up a few things from the collection (and by a few I mean two lol) and one of my favourite bathbombs, Space Girl.

Prince Charming Shower Gel (From R75.00) | Tender is the Night Massage Bar (R95.00) | Close to You Massage Bar (R85.00)
Love Locket Bathbomb (R95.00) | The Kiss Lipgloss (85.00) | Neon Love Soap
The collection consists of six limited edition products and three adorably wrapped gift sets. In this collection Lush has included a shower gel, two massage bars and one MASSIVE bath bomb. Unfortunately, Lush South Africa only carries the shower gel, the massages bars, the bathbomb and two of the gift boxes. Even though the soap isn't available to buy on it's own, you can find it in two of the gift boxes (Toucan Love and Neon Love).

I picked up the Prince Charming shower gel and the beautiful Love Locket bath bomb.
I asked the ever so sweet Luke to keep aside a medium bottle for me but when I smelt I didn't like fall inlove with it. I really liked the smell but I didn't like it enough to buy a bigger one.

Fall inlove with Lush this Valentine's Day, boo.
Prince Charming Shower Gel:

What Lush has to say about this shower gel:
Fresh pomegranate and marshmallow wash...
Lather up in our brand new, limited edition shower gel! Fresh pomegranate juice and grapefruit oil cleanse the skin while their bright, energetic scents help wake you up on early mornings. Add to that a blend of Fair Trade vanilla pod infusion, skin-softening marshmallow root and almond oil, and you’re in for royally soft, moisturized skin all over. The fragrance was made especially for this product and we think it’s an instant classic. Prince Charming is bound to sweep you off your feet!

Water , Sodium Laureth Sulfate , Sodium Cocoamphoacetate , Propylene Glycol , Lactic Acid , Lauryl Betaine , Grapefruit Oil (Citrus paradisi) , Sandalwood Oil (Santalum austro-caledonicum vieill and Fusanus spicatus) , Geranium Oil (Pelargonium graveolens) , Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis) , Titanium Dioxide , *Citronellol , *Farnesol , *Geraniol , *Linalool , Fragrance , D&C Red No. 33 , D&C Red No. 27 , D&C Red No.4 , Methylparaben , Propylparaben

Featured Ingredient:
Grapefruit Oil (Citrus grandis)

What The Jam Jar has to say about this shower gel:
I thought I would've LOVED this scent straight away but I didn't. It's featured ingredient (grapefruit oil) is found in my favourite bathbomb, Space Girl, so I was extremely surprised to find that this scent is TOTALLY different to Space Girl.

As soon as I walked into the store to collect my order, Luke told me that I should close my eyes and imagine the peeerfect man while smelling the Prince Charming shower gel (Cute, ne?). I didn't do that because I was way too anxious to smell the shower gel (Sorry, Luke. I suck!). At first, I thought it was kinda gross but then I smelt it again and I kinda liked it a bit because I started smelling the other yummy scents in the shower gel. I don't know why but I get a slight chocolatey scent from it as well. I ended up taking a smaller bottle to test during the week and see if I really love it or not.

The scent in the bottle is a bit different to actually using it. When I rubbed a bit on my fingers, I got that yummy fruity smell and that's why I did actually end up taking it. The colour of the shower gel is hot pink and it looks SO gorgeous! And like all Lush shower gels, the lathering of this shower gel is good, it's moisturizing and the scent does last a while on your body, which is great!

Would I purchase this again?
I would but if only I had extra money to spend.

Prince Charming Shower Gel - From R75.00
Love Locket Bath Bomb:

What Lush has to say about this bath bomb:
Set hearts aflutter!
What’s inside this locket? You’ll need to break this heart-shaped bomb in half to find out! Use each half and the center for three separate baths (each piece is big enough to stand on its own), or sink in with the whole thing all at once. The outside layer is speckled with paper hearts that will float out to the surface of the pink water, and the hidden center releases a smattering of shiny red agar seaweed hearts to create a spectacular bath time display. The sensual blend of vanilla, jasmine and neroli essential oils top off the luxurious and indulgent experience.

Sodium Bicarbonate , Citric Acid , Fragrance , Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum) , Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla Planifolia) , Neroli Oil (Citrus Aurantium amara) , Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides) , *Eugenol , Geraniol , Methyl Ionone , *Linalool , *Limonene , D&C Red No. 33 , D&C Red No. 27 , Pink Heart Confetti , Red Edible Hearts (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC), Glycerine, Gum Arabic, Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose, FD&C Red 40)

Featured Ingredient:
Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum)

What The Jam Jar has to say about this bath bomb:
I looked for a review on this bath bomb and when I saw the size of it, I thought to myself that I HAD to get it!
I think the look of it is so adorable and I love bath bombs that has a surprise in the center!

The smell is very powdery and floraly. I absolutely love Neroli-ness and I can clearly smell that scent in this bath bomb. I know the price might seem a bit much for a bath bomb BUT it's massive! It can be broken into two pieces and it has a surprise center so basically you're paying for R31.00 per piece (Cheapest bath bombs are R32.50) which it almost like buying 3 bath bombs at Lush. So, I think it is worth it to buy this bath bomb.

I haven't had a chance to try it yet but I know I'm going to love it because it smells amazing and it has the same ingredients like most of Lush bath bombs.

Would I purchase this again?

Event: Vintage and The City Boutique Launch

Hi everyone,

Friday, the 31st January marked the day of the official launch party for Vintage and The City.

Vintage and The City is a cute vintage store situated in the heart of Town, Long Street! I've done a post on Vintage and The City before when I first visited the store. That day I had NO idea I was going to gain the most sweetest friend, ever.

I met with JM at the beginning of January and he told me that he is planning to have a launch sometime soon and he was SO excited and obviously, I was excited too.

Anyways, a few weeks later, I got a DM asking if I got my invitation and then I was like "whaaaaaaat?" and then I got an email from the fabo Shiraaz Reddy inviting me to the official store launch of Vintage and The City!

On arrival, I was greeted by Shiraaz and his assistant and she ticked off my name and I immediately made my way to greet the ever so sweet, Junaid and his darling store assistant, Zahrah. I worked with them a few times and I must say that working with them was one of the highlights of my 2013.

Natalie Becker, an avid Vintage and The City shopper, was the MC for the night and she done excellent job! She is so whimsy and magical that I'm sure she owns a Unicorn or something.

The night basically consisted of vintage lovers oohing and aahing over Vintage and The City's cute vintage clothing, yummy tea tastings thanks to The Tea Merchants and adorably cute cupcakes from Lady Cupcake.

The Tea:
I first came across The Tea Merchants after attending an event at Dermalogica in Wembley square. I was fascinated by the unique design of their gourmet tea bags and the different flavours. I never used to like the taste of Green Tea but after tasting the Jasmine Green Tea from The Tea Merchants, I fell inlove! They have various flavours, very different to your common tea.

The Cupcakes:
We were spoilt with decedent cupcakes from Cupcake Lady. They were so delicious! I couldn't resist digging into a Chocolate Mousse cupcake with a flag that said, "EAT ME".
The cake was moist and soft and just so yummy that I didn't even feel guilty eating it!

The Store:
Oh, the store As I said in my previous post about Vintage and The City, the store is amazing! It might be a a bit small but it is amazing. The decor is on point, the clothing is to die for and the owner is just such a darling.

Vintage and The City carries a bunch of various items. From clothing to accessories to shoes to decor items. JM is very reasonable with his prices, even Natalie Becker seems to think so.

Located in the heart of Town, this is definitely a gem worth visiting!

The People:
Say hi to the people, Jammys...

Overall, the vintage tea party was perfect. I always feel awkward at events but I didn't feel that awkward lol.
We even got an awesome goodie box with yummy tea and Rain Africa products (which my mother already claimed) and a few gift vouchers from Hello Pretty and Rain Africa!

PS. Thanks for the extra goodies, bro ;)

Visit Vintage and the City at 287 Long Street, Cape Town.
