Goodbye 2013. Hello 2014.

Hi everyone,

It's that time of the year where everyone is drained and over being at work. Looking over the past year, I can positively say that this year was my year. I didn't set any goals but I accomplished a lot, which is actually really surprising.

A lot of good and bad things happened to me this year, mostly good though.

Ah. The Jam Jar :')
The Jam Jar has helped me gained new friends. Friends that I will probably keep for a long time, even if it's just communicating via social media. I would just like to say thank you to the people that I've met through my blog. Ladies, you've made my blogging experience enjoyable and I thank you for that.

I'm sure I'm missing a few bloggers but anyways,
T H A N K Y O U !
I mean it.
My campus life was a bit rocky, I started the year with a ton of friends and I'm only making it out with a few. I can definitely see the good of it and it's better this way. There were a few people who really made my time at campus special and filled with good memories. Even though lots of crap went down, I am still grateful for everyone I met because they all taught me something and I thank them for that.

A little something I done in 2012 :)
Thank you for these 3 years of my campus life.
My 3 years as a Multimedia Technology student at CPUT was amazing. Best experience of my life. I met so many different types of people and it was just an enjoyable experience for me. The cherry on top was graduating top of my class in my final year (I'm still shocked). All those sleepless nights really paid off.

I've been so blessed this year (Alhamdulillah الحمد لله‎). I am able to work two jobs and freelance jobs. It's hard work and there's not much sleep involved but it pays off (Literally. LOL)

How I feel errday!
Working with Vintage and The City was a good experience for me. I met the owner and store assistant, Junaid and Zahrah, who are such interesting people. I could sit and chat with them for hours on end. It was such a pleasure spending my Saturday and Sunday mornings with them.

I love the store's gates!
My internship at The Bandwidth Barn has been awesome. It started off a bit slow but it's getting so much better. I am motivated and ready to tackle 2014 with The Bandwidth Barn's design team!

This what happens when I design stuff! YEAH, WHAT??
And for my part-time job at The Baxter Theater Centre, shew, what an amazing experience! The Baxter is definitely my favourite place to be and now that I'm getting paid to be there is even better :D I am an Usher at The Baxter and it's been so awesome. I've met and chatted to local celebrities, started new friendships, I got to watch free shows and interacting with people is so much fun!
Uh no...Not that Usher.
And this is basically my 2013 is a nutshell... I hope my 2014 will be just as blessed (Inshallah إن شاء الله).

Tis the season to be festive and stuff so to everyone that's celebrating Christmas, Happy Christmas :)

Does this tree look familiar to anyone? :D
Please be safe over the festive season, Jammys.

Until next time..

Event: #EndlessSummer at Wakaberry Kloof Street

Hi everyone,

I was lucky enough to attend the exclusive Endless Summer Party at Wakaberry Kloof Street with my awesome bud last week Friday. After a long and stressful week it was the perfect event to just relax and unwind with a bowl of yummy FroYo.

What is Wakaberry?

Wakaberry is an interactive self-service frozen yoghurt bar that was established in Durban, May 2011. They offer 100% real frozen yoghurt which is low in fat, Halaal certified, gluten free, egg free and dairy free! Uh, can I get a HOLLA???

They offer wide variety of FroYo flavours and some different to your norm flavours like Condense Milk. They have so many different toppings to choose from as well, from fruit and nuts to cereals, chocolate to sweeties and sauces.

Wakaberry is really affordable compared to other FroYo outlets in South Africa. They weigh your FroYo R11.00 per 100g.
R 50 can get you two bowels full of goodness!

#EndlessSummer
The event was so chilled and very intimate. We got to mingle with the awesome Wakaberry staff and stuff our faces with unlimited FroYo! We were the first people to try out their new exciting flavours, Choc Malt and Tropical Guava. Choc Malt is definitely my favourite. It tastes like chocolate yoghurt (shocker) but a bit sweeter to me.
Besides the yummy foods, Stream drinks on tap and FroYo, we were treated to some awesome tunage by Holiday Murray and yummy Mocktails by Barcode. Unfortunately, I didn't taste the Mocktails but they looked sooo good!

Two new flavours that launched this week!

FroYo | Speckle Eggs | Toppings | My fav combo
Upstairs they had a little photobooth going on where there were different nautical props to wear and play around with in the photobooth. It was really fun actually. We got our own Polaroid images to make the memories last longer.

Our collection of Polaroids are growing, Amina :D
We got the opportunity to chat with Abonga (the brand manager of Wakaberry) and Luise (she does the Social Media for Wakaberry) and it was a never ending conversation. They are so chilled and kind to their supporters. I wish all companies would have that kind of standard towards their customers. Wakaberry's crew is definitely a fun bunch!

Awesome Wakaberry staff!
Make sure you check out their latest competition and their brand new merchandise!
Win with Wakaberry!
Don't forget to Like them on Facebook and Follow them on Twitter for constant updates. They are really friendly over their social media platforms so don't hesitate to say Hello :)
Don't forget to tag them in your moments at Wakaberry on Instagram.

** Thank you, Amina for inviting me and Wakaberry for hosting an awesome event! **

Until next time..

Event: Juliette Armand Skin Care Launch

Hi everyone,

On the 12th of November was the launch of Juliette Armand skin care products at the beautiful Crystal Tower's Life Day Spa. The venue was so perfect for the launch of these stunning skin care products.

Skincare is not a matter of vanity, but rather a matter of skin health – Juliette Armand believes that every woman deserves the right to affordable high quality skincare. Featuring three specialist lines of imported luxury cosmetic products – Juliette Armand is now available in South Africa.

Juliette Armand is pioneering the idea that although the effects of time cannot be stopped, it can be slowed down. Their mission is to slow the effects of the lapse of time on the skin. The scientists at Juliette Armand believe that the skin has moods and they take steps to treat skin individually, beyond the definitions of sensitive, dry and oily, taking a more holistic approach. It is due to this careful and considered approach that they create multidimensional products to achieve maximum results for every woman’s skin mood.

At a time when so much of the beauty industry is impersonalised Juliette Armand pride themselves on being just the opposite - personal – a quality evident in the devotion of their founders to research, as well as the variety of their product lines, specialised ingredients and proven results. Juliette Armand offers three product lines: Skin Boosters Anti-Surgery System, Elements of Evolution and Sunfilm.

Skin Care Range:
Skin Boosters Anti-Surgery System
The Skin Boosters product range can be used as both a home care and beauty salon treatment that is effective and accurate allowing you to postpone your appointment with that plastic surgeon. The active ingredients of this range define the future of cosmetology and come with a dermatologically tested stamp of responsible safety.

Elements of Evolution
The renewed Elements of Evolution line is based on innovative ingredients and technology and offers skincare formulas in keeping with international trends in cosmetology and most recent scientific advancements.

Sunfilm
The new Sunfilm sunscreen products by Juliette Armand meet the need for increased sun protection in South Africa’s harsh climate. The line has been developed with state-of-the-art and highly efficient broad-spectrum sun filters, chosen to meet the strictest international standards. The unique Antitox by Juliette Armand ensures the antioxidant properties of their sunscreen products with high protection factors.
Here is just a short video about Juliette Armand explained by the stunning Janine Janse van Rensburg from Poise Brands.

The event was really stunning. We had a one on one session with Janine and one of her assistants. They explained each product and what product will suit my skin best.
She recommended:
Color Control Cream (We got this in our press pack. Review will be up soon) | Hyaluronic Filler | Preparatorlotion & Sensitive Cleansing wash
Magic Mirror 3D Face Scan
The Magic Mirror 3D Face Scan was kind of scary when the two stunning assistants,  Meghan and Melanie, explained what it does. The magic mirror takes a picture of your face and analyzes your skin. It's amazing how it can pick up years of damaged skin. It measures for spots (pigmentation), pores, wrinkles, evenness, porphyritic, UV spots and sun-damage.

I'm 21 but my skins age is 23.
According to them this is actually really good.
YAY!
Juliette Armand is surprisingly really affordable. I was really shocked when Janine told me how affordable their products are. I thought to myself for high-end products, it's basically a steal. The products range from R290 - R650.

Hi, I'm still here!

Hi everyone,

It's been weeks since I've posted something on my blog. I've been a bit uninspired, busy and just extremely exhausted.

Recently, I've been really busy because I have two jobs now and some freelance work in-between. Yes, TWO! (Apparently, they're not "real" jobs but whatever. It's time consuming and I get a good salary for both jobs so it seems quite real to me) It keeps me really busy but I enjoy what I do. I can't bum off my parents anymore because I feel like I'm just wasting their money when I buy things I don't need like a billion notepads from Typo (I don't even write a lot) or when I feel like spending money to make myself feel better so instead I would rather just waste my own money.

Sad but true.
On Wednesday, I got a phone call from a lady at my University named Alice. Alice told me that I've been invited to an awards ceremony / exhibition that showcases work of the other courses in my department. I was really confused because I don't remember anyone asking if they can showcase my work at this exhibition and there was no way in hell that I would get an award that evening because I knew it was the Top Student award for the year. Alice then told me that I will be receiving an award tonight. I was speechless and the only thing that popped up in my head and out of my mouth was, "NO FREAKING WAY!!!!". Alice then confirmed with a very enthusiastic "Yeah! Way!". After the call with Alice, I phoned my daddy and told him the exciting news. I cried while telling him. I still can't believe it. I still think that someone from CPUT will phone me and say "Oh sorrryyy, we've made a mistake and you're actually dumb". So far, no phone call! YES!

I'm on the Dean's List, bi*ches!
My year has been really amazing. I've been granted amazing opportunities but I will definitely do a post about my year and the highlights.

I have a few review posts laying in my draft box that I will try to complete this week. Promise.

Oh, side note...I dyed my hair pitch black.

OKAY! BYE!

Until next time..
