Review: Lily Storm Beauty Box

Hi everyone,

I got the privilege of receiving the first ever Lily Storm Beauty Box and I am LOVING it!

I have never received a beauty box before so I was really excited to dig into a box full of beauty goodies.

What is a Beauty Box?
A beauty box is a box (duh) filled with full-sized or sample-sized products. It's usually to a value of a certain amount but the amount you pay for the actual box is way cheaper.

How does it work?
You sign up for a monthly subscription that's only R150 and that's including delivery (Score!).
Once you get confirmation that you are registered, your box full of goodies will get sent through a courier company to your door. Safe, convenient and no trips to the post office.

My experience:
Being one of the first few to try this box out was an honour because I see big things coming for the Lily Storm beauty box. This box is made up with local beauty products which I think is amazing because it creates exposure for local companies.

Packaging:
It came safely wrapped in bubble wrap and all the goodies were neatly packed in a blue box which had package worms hugging the goodies and keeping them safe.
Judging by the packaging you can see that a lot of thought and love was put into this box.

How cute is this packaging?
Products:

1. Matsimela Home Spa body butter - Baobab Seed (200ml)
I love the subtle sent of this body butter. Think of a spa kind of smell :)
It massages in well and it does leave a slight greasy feel but it's nothing major. It left my skin feeling
smooth and smelling great.

2. SoyLites Aromatherapy Travel Lites Soy Body Candle – Rose, Geranium and Jasmine (Full size)
I was so intrigued by this product. Once the candle has been burning for a while, you blow out the candle (fun!) and then take the wax and rub it all over your body. WHY WOULD I RUB WAX ALL OVER MY BODY??? The wax is filled with essential oils that leaves your skin feeling amazing! I love this candle and I'm definitely going to purchase another one.

3. The Victorian Garden Day Cream - Lemon and Neroli (30 ml)
I am inlove with this day cream! The scent is a bit over whelming but it smells amazing. This works so well as a primer for me. It creates a smooth surface for foundation and it leaves my skin feeling soft and smelling yummy. It might be a bit strong for sensitive skin because it did burn the sensitive areas on my face. It's meant for normal / combination skin and that's amazing!

4. eyeSlices® - 1 Single Oval
Okay, looking at this at first was like "this doesn't go over my nipple?" (refer to this image if you have no idea what I'm talking about)
I like the idea about putting this on my eye but after putting it on, it felt like a piece of Sashimi on my face!!! This innovative eye pad comes in wide range of eye pad treatments. I received the "eyeCandy" eye pad with Oak Apple extract and English Ribwort Plantain. It really soothed my eye and it smells like an eye cream.
Eek! Blurry picture -____-
5. Just Pure Shaving Oil (5ml)
I haven't used this product yet but this is what Lily Storm had to say about this shaving oil:
"Unlike any shaving experience you have ever had. This shaving oil offers a consistently smooth, pain free shave with reduced nicks and no razor burn. Leaves the skin hydrated and conditioned. Contains avocado oil, grapeseed oil, sesame seed oil, essential oils of cedarwood, frankincense and myrrh."

Sounds awesome, right?

A nice variety of beauty products. I wish Lily Storm all the best in the future and I can't wait to purchase my own one soon :)

It is R150 including courier delivery. The contents of the box is worth more than R250. Score!
